Tupai (student) vs Tupai Parent: Who Does What in the Run-Up to SPM
Artikel blog kami hanya tersedia dalam Bahasa Inggeris buat masa ini.
SPM is only weeks away, and plenty of homes are stuck in the same quiet standoff. Your child says revision is “okay”. You’d like to believe them, but the last time you opened a Form 5 Maths textbook, it looked nothing like the one you remember. The gap between what your child is doing and what you can actually see is the reason Tupai comes in two parts.
Key summary:
- Tupai (Student) is where your child learns. They get step-by-step help on SPM Maths the moment they’re stuck, at any hour.
- Tupai Parent is where you get clarity. You see in plain language which topics your child understands and which still need work.
- The two are connected. What your child does in Tupai shapes what you see in Tupai Parent.
- That link changes the conversation. In the final weeks before SPM, “how’s revision?” becomes a talk about specific topics.
Key takeaway: Your child doesn’t need you to relearn the KSSM syllabus. They need you to know where they’re stuck, so the weeks before SPM go to the topics that matter most.
What is the difference between Tupai (student) and Tupai Parent?
Tupai is the learning side. Your child works through SPM Maths with an AI tutor that explains each step and adapts to the topics they find hard. Tupai Parent is the clarity side. You see which topics your child understands and which need more time, and you don’t need to know the syllabus yourself.
Tupai Student | Tupai Parent | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it’s for | Your child | You |
| What it does | Explains maths one step at a time and adjusts to their gaps | Gives you an AI summary report of their progress and lets you assign practice |
| When it’s used | Whenever they’re stuck: after school, after tuition, late at night | Whenever you want to check in |
| How it feels | Patient, no judgement, at their own pace | Clear, in plain language, no jargon |
| What it builds | Understanding first, then confidence | Clarity first, then calmer conversations |
How does Tupai (student) help my child prepare for SPM Maths?
When your child is stuck on an SPM Maths question, Tupai walks them through it step by step and explains why each step works. It adjusts to the topics they find hardest, so revision time goes to real gaps instead of redoing questions they’ve already mastered.
This matters most in the final stretch, when time is the scarcest thing your child has. A student who memorises a method for one past-year question can lose their footing when the exam phrases it differently. Faham beats hafal: a student who understands the method can handle a question they haven’t seen before.
- Help on their schedule. It’s there the night before a trial paper or between tuition classes, with no booking needed.
- Room to ask “why?” Your child can ask as many times as they need, with no one watching the clock.
- Built for KSSM. What they practise lines up with what they’ll see in the exam hall.
How does Tupai Parent help me support my child’s SPM revision?
Tupai Parent shows you your child’s progress topic by topic: what they understand and what still needs work. You don’t need to remember the syllabus or check their working line by line. You get enough clarity to ask the right question and give the right kind of support.
- Spot gaps early. The report reflects what your child is actually working on, so a shaky topic shows up weeks before trial results or SPM would reveal it.
- Assign practice where it’s needed. If the report shows probability still needs work, set practice on that topic. You choose the focus, and Tupai Student guides your child through it step by step.
- Have a better conversation. Swap “Dah study ke?” for “The report says quadratic functions is clicking. How’s probability going?”
Why are there two separate apps instead of one?
A Form 5 student revising for SPM and a parent checking in after work need different things. Your child needs space to ask questions and make mistakes without feeling watched. You need a quick, clear summary. So there are two experiences in one connected system, and your child’s learning is what shapes your view.
The aim is partnership. Your child does the learning, and you get the clarity to back them up. Each of you gets what you need without stepping on the other’s toes.
How should we use both in the last few weeks before SPM?
Your child uses Tupai for short, focused sessions on the topics they find hardest. Once a week, you open Tupai Parent to see what has moved and what hasn’t. Then the two of you spend five minutes talking it over, with no pressure.
A weekly rhythm that works for most families:
- Your child: short, focused sessions of 20 to 30 minutes on one or two tricky topics.
- You: one check-in on Tupai Parent each week.
- Together: a short chat about three things: what clicked, what’s still tricky, and what help they need.
- In the final week: lean towards topics they already understand, so they walk into the exam hall feeling steady, not shaken.
